Muscat is one of the most distinctive and aromatic varieties and this wine displays these attributes like fruit salad in a glass, with aromas of orange blossom and ginger
The 2015 season in the Okanagan Valley can be summed up in word — fantastic. An early spring start provided the necessities for superior vine growth. July and August were very sunny and hot leading to good sugar development within the grapes and much earlier ripening than normal. We began our earliest harvest on record, on August 22, and by the end of September completed the bulk of our grape picking. September was similarly, warm and sunny with slightly cooler nights allowing for continued phenolic ripening. A harvest for the record books, was finished at our earliest date ever, October 8
Fermented in 100% stainless steel at 14°C for three weeks to enable the juicy fruit flavours and bright aromas to really radiate through, this wine retains the luscious aromatic characters this variety is renown for. Grown by one of our long time farmers, Rock Pocket Vineyard in North Bench Oliver. The rocky soils of this warmer site enables the Muscat to properly ripen and produce the fragrant characteristics common of traditional European sites such as France and Italy where the grape is widely planted.
