100% of the grapes used for making the 2011 Single Vineyard Gewürztraminer are self-rooted, and came solely from our Reece Road vineyard, originally planted in 1980, with additional plantings in 1990 and 1997. The grapes were picked later in the season (Oct 19) to give them more “hanging time.” Currently we have a total of 60 acres of vineyards in West Kelowna, all within 10 kilometers of our winery.
This wine pairs well with slightly sweet, spicy foods. The wine’s sweetness coats the inside of your mouth helping to tame the spiciness of the food. It pairs well with exotic fruit and cheeses, quiche Lorraine, Indian curries and Asian flavoured dishes.
