The 2012 vintage is a reminder that the Okanagan is one of the world’s northern-most serious wine regions. After a generally dry, warm growing season, the last few weeks of harvest cooled consider- ably. The summer ensured ideal fruit development. Veraison took place under nearly ideal conditions that lasted from mid-August through September. The continuation of mild autumn weather gave promise that the grapes developed thick skins and expectations of flavourful, extracted wines. Harvest began on September 13th with sunny skies and moderate temperatures, delivering the early ripening varieties. The night cooled drastically in late September, preserving the freshness of our top quality grapes bringing welcome respite after an incredibly dry growing season.
Our 2012 Reserve Red Wine was farmed from two of our estate vineyards. Black Sage Bench, a diverse vineyard with more than 60 different individual blocks affording us an amazing array of premium quality fruit to select, and Osoyoos, the region’s most southern region, comprised of arid benchlands that benefit from the lake’s effect providing the area with more than 200 frost-free days. This warm climate allows our Bordeaux varietals to completely ripen for full flavour.
12 months in French and American oak (7.5% new).

A Winery Exclusive, our Reserve Red Wine is a blend of estate-grown varietals. The medley creates amazing aromatics that include black pepper and boysenberry.
Aromatics continue on the palate to bring out flavours of juicy plum, wild blackberry, and a touch of sage. 12 months of oak barrel aging rounded out the silky tannins and seamlessly integrated this wine.
