A blend of 52% Merlot, 26% Cabernet Sauvignon and 22% Cabernet Franc, the grapes for the 2011 Eruption were sourced from a grower with vineyards planted in the South Okanagan Valley along the famous Black Sage road, in Oliver BC. The vines, which are grafted onto rootstock, were planted between the years 1996 and 2000. They thrive in the sandy soils of the hot, desert-like climate.
Try it with cheddar or blue cheese, smoked meats, grilled meats, steak, short ribs, roasts, lamb, game, barbecues and pasta with tomato sauces.
