2009 was an unusual year, with a cold winter preceding the growing season, late bud break in May, excellent fruit set in July, and an early harvest in September and October. It was truly a constantly changing vintage. However, the quality produced was exceptional, and despite a rushed picking schedule following an early frost, all wines came in clean and tasting great.
Hand picked, hand sorted and crushed in small vineyard parcel lots. The 2009 exemplified the peppery, meaty style of Syrah we love so much. 20 months in French and American oak, 33% new.
