From the 17-year old vines of Quarry Road estate vineyard, farmed organically and biodynamically. Viticultural practices included vertical shoot positioning, shoot thinning, cluster thinning, hand leaf removal and hand harvest.
Planted in 1998 on mixed limestone and clay soils, the Quarry Road estate vineyard is farmed organically and biodynamically and produces balanced wines with unique minerality. Barrel-fermented and aged 14 months in French oak, this elegant Chardonnay has an expressive nose of green apple, white flower and a hint of citrus zest and a touch of oak spice. Apple and citrus notes replay on the palate with a hint of wet stone coupled with a pleasant body and a lingering finish.
With its freshness and pronounced minerality, this medium-bodied wine pairs beautifully with seafood and fish but also richer fare. Try it with scallop wrapped in prosciutto or bacon, gravlax or even roasted pork belly. It is also a great match with vegetarian fare, like roasted vegetable salad or quiche.
