Tropical aromas of pineapple, grapefruit, and mango are followed by the same flavours on the palate, which is surprisingly crisp given the ripe tropical aromas. This is a very fresh, and refreshing, yet ripe style of Gewu╠łrztraminer; a rare achievement for this grape.

Growing Conditions

Throughout the entire 2012 growing season, the vines were perpetually about a week behind. In the end, however, the autumn harvest season was long, dry, and warm giving the vintage all the ripeness it needed.

Whole cluster sorting was followed by de-steming, berry sorting, and crushing into the press. A short cold soak on skins was allowed prior to gentle pressing. Juice was settled, racked, and fermented at 15 degrees Celsius over 3 weeks. No sur-lie ageing was done on this wine.
