A little bit dry, and a little bit sweet; we build our 7 Blanc blend to reflect the unique terroir of the Naramata Bench. 100% sourced from our Penticton vineyard, it’s a unique blend of Pinot Gris and Gewurztraminer that creates ‘summer in a glass’.
A vintage to celebrate, the 2014 growing season in the Okanagan Valley was fantastic. An early spring start and timely precipitation through June provided the necessities for good vine growth. July and August were very sunny and hot leading to excellent sugar development within the grapes and earlier than normal ripening. September was also warm and sunny with cool nights allowing for continued ripening. October was cooler with some precipitation that permitted extended “hang time” to ensure proper phenolic ripeness without excessive brix levels.
Our very first vintage with a screw cap closure, this wine is not only a snap to open, but also stays fresh and ready to drink. Unlike traditional cork closures which are better suited to wines that need aging, the screw cap provides an impermeable seal to the bottle, ideal for preserving the bouquet and fragrance of this aromatic blend. All three varietals were cool fermented at 14°C for approximately 21 days in stainless steel tanks, enabling the classic varietal characteristics to really shine. We fermented in small batches using specific yeast selections, to express each of grape’s unique floral and spicy qualities.
Pretty aromatics of Okanagan peach, Bosc pear and fresh citrus with background floral and ginger notes spring from the glass.
The palate displays stone fruit and Caribbean spices finishing with a refreshing crispness.
Light stone clear and yellow hue.
Fruit forward with just a kiss of sweetness, enjoy as a summer sipper, paired with spicy Thai cuisine, Indian curries, or full-flavoured Asian dishes.
