A little bit dry, and a little bit sweet; we build our 7 Blanc blend to reflect the unique terroir of the Naramata Bench. 100% sourced from our Penticton vineyard, it’s a unique blend of Pinot Gris and Gewurztraminer that creates ‘summer in a glass’.
The 2013 growing season was ideal in the Okanagan in many respects. A well-timed start in the spring and plenty of precipitation through June provided generous vine development. Summer was textbook Okanagan with plenty of warm sunny days and cool nights. The harvest season was dry and temperate, punctuated by a cool and moist trend at the end of September that slowed ripening and allowed extended ‘hangtime’ to build flavour in the grapes before returning to normal, cool and dry October conditions.
Both varietals were cold fermented over the course of approximately 25 days using specific yeast selections which preserved a bounty of fruit and floral characteristics. About 60% of the blend is Gewurztraminer and the balance being Pinot Gris.
Aromas of spicy tangerine and floral notes.
veritable fruit salad of apple, peach, citrus with background flavour of fig and orange pekoe tea.
Enjoy as an aperitif or paired with sushi, lamb with green curry or ginger beef.
