A little bit dry, and a little bit sweet; we build our 7 Blanc blend to reflect the unique terroir of the Naramata Bench. 100% sourced from our Penticton vineyard, it’s a unique blend of Pinot Gris and Gewurztraminer that creates ‘summer in a glass’.
The Gewurztraminer is usually the first to be picked on our Naramata Bench property and this held true again for 2012. After a long, dry fall we began picking October 17th and concluded with the Pinot Gris on October 28th. A good summer with moderate heat and abundant sunshine, we harvested following a luxurious amount of flavour enhancing ‘hang-time’. The grapes arrived at the winery in prime condition and were promptly crushed and pressed.
These popular Alsatian varietals underwent a slow, cool fermentation in stainless steel tanks to enable the classic floral and spice varietal characteristics to really shine through. We fermented in small batches averaging 21 days at temperatures of approximately 14.5ºC to help bring out the fresh fruit flavours.
Floral notes with lychee and stone fruit.
Look for honeydew and citrus in the aromas and lemony peach on the palate.
Enjoy as an aperitif or a willing companion to soft creamy cheeses, white fish, or spicy cuisine.
