Trois-Rivières
Agronomist André Brunelle and molecular biologist Remi Martel founded Vignoble Riparia in 2008, with the mission to allow people to try a vine indigenous to Quebec - the vitis riparia. This type of vine was, in fact, observed back in the 16th century by Jacques Cartier. Current grape varietals grown on site are: riparia, Desgroseilliers and Frédéric (in the red category) and Muscat and Louise Swanson (in the white category).
