Light garnet colour, and lively with aromas and flavours of cherry, cranberry, red berries, spice with hints of vanilla, pepper. Light bodied with 5 months on French oak, soft tannins with medium acidity - the finish is fresh and bright. This wine is definitely a food wine. Try it slightly chilled! Serve at 14 – 16⁰C and best consumed within 3 - 4 years of vintage.
100% of the grapes used for making our Gamay Noir are self-rooted, and come from our Scharf Road West vineyards in West Kelowna, which were originally planted in 1990 with additional plantings in 1992. We currently have a total of 58 acres of vineyards in West Kelowna, within 10 kilometers of our winery, and 7 acres on site. One of our more “riper” vintages, picked at 23 ½ brix. It was aged 5 months in 30% new American oak and 60% in neutral French oak. Fermentation time: 14 days.
