Growing Conditions

A mild winter was followed by a slow start to the growing season for the 2011 vintage, with a cool late spring. Mother nature fortunately came through with a long summer followed by an above average September of dry, warm days. October opened with some precipitation events, but quickly moderated and dried to allow our reds to be harvested late, but in excellent condition. Our big reds benefited from the long ripening season and produced bold flavours from the outset.

Nose

The nose is raspberry, blackberry and tanned leather complimented with a palate of black cherry, black olive and toffee.

Palate

Robust tannins make this an age-worthy wine to cellar to 2020 and beyond to experience its evolution. Unfiltered. We recommend decanting

Food Pairing

A powerhouse of rich texture and a bold structure that we suggest pairing with venison or elk, lamb and strong cheeses.
