p Aging in French and American oak barrels has created a rich and harmonious palate of dark berry and exotic spice notes that mesh with the bold structure common to this varietal. A slow start to the growing season in 2010 saw a late but good fruit set. The unseasonably cool summer was free of heat spikes with a dry and sunny autumn enabling a consistent and even ripening period as harvest approached. The vintage for our reds overall saw excellent flavour development and great tannin textures. The smaller crop provided added value in taste and ripeness.
Ideal food pairing would be lamb roasted with a selection of fresh herbs.
