Well-integrated aromas of red and blackfruit, blackberry, mint, licorice, toasted oak, currants with some nice earthiness and tar. A well-structured wine with fine tannins, a rich yet supple mouthfeel, balanced acidity, and a long pleasant finish. Decant in advance before serving.
2007 will be recorded by most as excellent though it is important to remember that not all grape varieties benefit from a hot, long, growing season. Bud-break was frost-free and flowering occurred under ideal calm. The summer and fall were seasonably warm and dry allowing for clean fruit and above average ripeness levels.
