Beautiful complex aromas that are juicy, peppery, and bright. Medium bodied on the palate, very refreshing, with fine, assertive tannins. Classic match to peppercorn steak or grilled sausage.
Cerqueira Vineyard, Oliver, BC. Black Sage Gravel Bar
These grapes were harvested Oct. 22, crushed lightly to 2 & 3 ton open top fermenters, with 10% whole clusters buried at the bottom of each fermenter. Maceration was conducted over 24 days, at which point the must was basket pressed directly to 225 litre neutral thin stave French barrels, with hard press fractions separated out. The wine completed malolactic fermentation in these barrels and remained in them sur-lie until its first racking in March, 2014. The wine was racked two more times to separate sediments, and bottled in April.
Fresh & Bright.
Tomato sauces, spicy sausage, grilled meat.
